Honestly, all you need to get started is a pen or a pencil and some paper. These are what I started with and then I started bible journaling earlier this year. I then found some other things around the house which were useful too:

Due to my line of work (and my children) I possibly have more in the way of art and craft supplies than some but it was only after I’d been journaling for a bit that I choose to buy some more equipment. Why not see what you already have and make a start?

My first purchase was my journaling bible. Whilst not necessary, I’ve found it really helpful to have one. I chose the ESV journaling bible with two columns (I had actually intended to get the single column one but ordered the wrong thing!) – I love it. The margins are wide enough to be able to only journal in them if you want to and the pages are a good size if you want to use the whole thing. I bought my journaling bible from 10ofthose.com who stock a good range of bibles.

Other useful items:

  • Stickers
  • Stamps
  • Ink pads
  • Washi tape
  • Tracing templates
  • Other types of paint
  • Bible Journaling Tabs (I love these from OpenBook Print Shop)

What are your favourite Bible journaling supplies? What do you journal in?
